Reclaiming Ascalon
after a long journey of self discovery, i followed what my heart longed for. i returned home.
i returned as a hero, having saved tyria from the menace of the lich and his control of the burning titans. i have been to the underworld and explored the innermost depths of the fissure of woe. i have ascended and accomplished great things. yet, there is one thing i have yet to do: reclaim ascalon.
a land that i once called home now lies in ashes. the fields where my childhood lay has been ravaged, and charr roam freely over the land.
as a young warrior, i followed my late prince and led our people to new lands. in our haste, however, we left those who were willing to brave the onslaught of the charr. we left those willing to fight for their home, no matter the odds. we left our home in hopes of salvaging our future.
but now, after having learned what it means to be a true warrior, i have returned. i have returned seeking vengeance, inspired by those brave enough to face the charr army. i have returned to reclaim my home.
i am but one man, one strider, but my courage shall not falter.
of course, the only good charr is a dead charr.
one by one, little by little, i will reclaim ascalon.
sidenote: for those who are wondering, the reason why i blocked out my skillbar isn't because i don't like to share my builds. i'm going to post a thread teaching up-and-coming warriors how to better themselves and use this run as an example. part of the learning process will be coming up with their own builds. the run itself against level 24 charr isn't very difficult, but it's a good learning experience for new warriors.

-Which you can get after beating the game, and the quest "Defend Droknar",
given by Vision of Glint in Droknar's Forge.

haha. would you have been disappointed otherwise?
to be honest, i was inspired by something you had said. you mentioned "building a better warrior" in one of your posts. your fow and uw solo builds certainly do that, but i know that there are some who still struggle at it. instead of just giving them a build, i want to take things a step further. i want to show them how we think and how to develop their own builds. it won't be just giving a build away, but having people understand the actual skills involved.
it might be one step towards helping some peoples' game, or no one might bother with it. *shrugs*
@negative-k
as mentioned, the level 24 charr appear after you have beaten the game and have obtained the defend quests from the vision of glint. these particular ones are from last day dawns. i'm waiting for someone to get the quest *cough*yichi*cough*, so that we can complete it. in the meantime, i decided to take a stroll out in the countryside alone when i was beset by the charr.
@claire
prince rurik has a brother!?
